SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One person was killed and another person was injured in a shooting late Tuesday in the Lincoln Park area.
San Diego Police officers were called to the area of 200 50th Street just before 5:30 p.m. to a report of a shooting. Officers arrived to find two men lying in the street, both hit by gunfire, SDPD said.
The first victim, described as a 59-year-old Black male, was taken to a nearby hospital but died at the scene. He has been identified but his name was not being released, according to police.
The second victim, described as a 64-year-old Black male, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive. He has also been identified but his name is not being released.
Officers believe the two men were part of a larger group gathered on 50th St. at the time of the shooting. Investigators said is appears the suspect approached the group on foot and fired multiple rounds before fleeing the scene.
A description for the suspect is limited, SDPD said, and could only say they are searching for a Black male wearing dark clothing, including a hooded sweatshirt and a mask. The suspect’s vehicle is possibly a white or silver Honda sedan.
