Man arrested, accused of shooting girlfriend, her teen daughter in Lemon Grove home

LEMON GROVE, Calif. (KGTV) -- A man was arrested early Wednesday morning in connection with a shooting at a Lemon Grove home that injured his girlfriend and her teenage daughter, San Diego County sheriff’s officials said.

At around 12:20 a.m., sheriff's deputies were called to the 1400 block of Bakersfield Street in response to a reported shooting in a home.

According to sheriff’s officials, “The reporting party stated her mother and sister had been shot by the mother's boyfriend …”

The suspect was identified by the caller as Pablo Eduardo Ramirez, and responding deputies took the 40-year-old into custody without incident after they saw him exiting the house, sheriff’s officials said.

Inside the home, deputies found a 33-year-old woman with gunshot wounds. Her 15-year-old daughter was also found in the house with gunshot wounds.

Both victims were hospitalized; the 33-year-old victim underwent surgery and was listed in critical condition. Her daughter also underwent surgery and was listed in stable condition.

Ramirez was arrested on two counts of suspicion of attempted murder.

Details on what led to the gunfire were not immediately available.
