SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – San Diego County sheriff’s officials said a body matching the general description of a motorcyclist reported missing in the Otay Mountain area was discovered Wednesday afternoon.
Sheriff’s officials told 10News a deceased male was found in the Otay Mountain area at around 1 p.m. Officials said the county’s Medical Examiner’s Office is working to officially identify the body.
Officials did not confirm that the body was that of 48-year-old Roberto Camou, who was last seen April 25 after taking an off-roading motorcycle trip to the area.
Camou had posted a photo of himself and his motorcycle online at around 12 p.m. that day, but he was not seen or heard from since then.
Deputies and search-and-rescue volunteers, along with members of the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, California State Parks, California Office of Emergency Services (CAL OES) and U.S. Border Patrol, were involved in a search for Camou in the Otay Mountain area, which consists of remote and rugged terrain.
