Man killed in shooting at Singing Hills Golf Resort identified

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Authorities are investigating a shooting inside a hotel room at the Singing Hills Golf Resort that left a man dead.

San Diego County sheriff’s officials said deputies and Sycuan Police Department officers were called to the resort, located several miles from Sycuan Casino, on Wednesday at around 6 p.m. in response to a reported shooting.

When deputies and officers arrived, they found 28-year-old Dylan Brooks with an apparent gunshot wound in a room. Brooks is resident of Lakesideand passed away shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Homicide detectives have identified 33-year-old Frank Billeter as the suspect in the murder of Brooks. Billeter is a resident of Lakeside and was already in custody at San Diego Central Jail for separate charges. Billeter is now facing murder charges.
