SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – San Diego authorities are investigating a string of robberies involving thieves wielding hammers.
San Diego police and sheriff’s department officials confirmed four incidents are being investigated, and they are trying to determine if the robberies are connected.
At around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, police were called to a Circle K store on Tierrasanta Boulevard due to a robbery carried out by multiple males armed with hammers. It is unknown what the thieves took in the robbery.
About an hour later, a man told police that several men with hammers confronted him at a convenience store near Black Mountain Road and ransacked his car before fleeing.
Several minutes later, police responded to a 911 call from a driver who reported being flagged down on Maya Linda Road by a man who said he was robbed by a group of people with hammers.
A fourth robbery involving a group armed with hammers was reported at a 7-Eleven in Mira Mesa, authorities said.
No injuries were reported in any of the incidents, ABC 10News learned.
Authorities do not have detailed descriptions of the assailants.
