SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A panga boat washed ashore in Point Loma Monday morning, prompting a search for the people who were on the vessel.
At around 7 a.m., San Diego lifeguards were called to the beach near Sunset Cliffs, just south of Point Loma Nazarene University, in response to reports of a boat on the beach.
10News learned at least 15 people believed to be linked to the boat were found near the vessel. Lifeguards were joined by the Coast Guard and Border Patrol as they searched on the ground and in the air for anyone else who may have been on the boat.
A Coast Guard official told 10News the boat occupants would be transferred to Border Patrol custody.
