SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A double shooting in the Ocean View Hills in South Bay left a 40-year-old man dead and another, 40, injured Friday night.

Police said the shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. on Hidden Trails Road. They found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds and began rendering aid until paramedics arrived. One of the victims, described as a 40-year-old Hispanic man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other victim, a 42-year-old Hispanic man, was rushed to a hospital in serious condition.

A man told ABC 10News that he was walking his dogs when he witnessed the shooting. He said he saw both victims as well as a car speeding away.

Community members describe Ocean View Hills as a quiet neighborhood, but people gather in their cars frequently at the location where the shooting happened.

Police confirmed that they found a suspicious car, potentially related to the scene, hours later in Mid-City.

This shooting happened just hours after a separate, unrelated homicide in Logan Heights, where officers investigated a stabbing incident. A victim was transported to the hospital, where he later died.

The victims in either case were not identified, and detectives are working on suspect descriptions of both crimes.

Authorities asked anyone with information regarding the attack to call the SDPD at 619-531- 2293 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
