CARLSBAD, Calif. (KGTV) – A woman was killed and a man suffered serious injuries Sunday in a car crash in Carlsbad believed to be DUI-related.
According to Carlsbad police, the crash happened just before 6 p.m. at the intersection of Aviara Parkway and Cobblestone Road.
Police and emergency responders were called to the scene after receiving reports of a Honda Civic crashing into a light pole.
A passenger in the Civic, a 41-year-old woman from San Marcos, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 37-year-old male driver, also from San Marcos, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Police said alcohol was believed to have been a factor in the crash, but the incident is under investigation.
