SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego police are investigating a traffic accident that left a 19-year-old skateboarder dead Friday night on the University of California, San Diego campus.
The incident happened around 11:35 p.m. along Voight Drive, police said.
"He lost control and fell from his skateboard, landing in the middle of the roadway," that San Diego Police Department said.
Police said that moments later, a motorist in a Nissan Maxima ran over the skateboarder while he was still lying in the middle of the street.
The unidentified skateboarder sustained fatal injures and was pronounced deceased, according to police.
No other information was made available at this time.
Traffic Division Officers responded to the scene and will be handling the investigation.
