FALLBROOK, Calif. (KGTV) — Ten Fallbrook High School students were arrested Friday after a massive brawl erupted on campus.
The massive fight involved about 20 students near the campus' cafeteria just before 10:30 a.m. , according to San Diego Sheriff's Department. The fight sent the high school into a brief lockdown until the two groups of students could be broken up by Sheriff's deputies.
Paramedics attended to several students involved in the altercation for injuries ranging from complaints of pain to minor injuries.
Ten students were arrested and booked into Juvenile Hall for charges including probation violations, battery, and battery on a school official in some cases, SDSO Sgt. William Munsch told 10News reporter Cassie Carlisle.
Sgt. Munsch said he didn't believe the fight was gang or race related and didn't believe any weapons were involved. An official cause has not been released.
Deputies will be stepping up patrols after school to prevent any further fights, deputies say.
10News has reached out to Fallbrook Union High School District but have yet to hear back.
Fallbrook Sheriff's deputies are investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fallbrook Substation at 760-451-3100.
