Update: Police locate at-risk man who disappeared from North County home

UPDATE: Police have safely located Romy Castro and he has been reunited with his family.


ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KGTV) — Police are asking for the public's help to locate a missing man who suffers from Alzheimer's disease.

Police say 87-year-old Romy Castro disappeared from his South Escondido home off Brotherton Rd. sometime between the evening of Dec. 19 and Dec. 20.

He was last seen wearing a grey shirt, tan jacket, black pants, and black moccasins. He also wears black eye glasses.

Castro is described as having black and gray hair, brown eyes, stands about 5-foot 3-inches tall, and weighs 130 pounds.

Anyone with information regarding Castro's wearabouts is asked to call Escondido Police at 760-839-4970.
