OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) -- A family of four was displaced Wednesday afternoon when a fire tore through the garage of their Oceanside home.
No one was seriously injured in the fire, reported just after 2 p.m. at a single-story house on Arthur Avenue between Hallowglenn Road and Isidore Street, according to the Oceanside Fire Department.
Crews placed the fire under control in about 25 minutes. The garage suffered the most damage, with some smoke and water damage to a bedroom adjacent to the garage.
The Red Cross is assisting the displaced family, fire officials said.
The fire caused an SDGE transformer to blow a fuse, and several homes in the neighborhood were without power. SDGE says the power will be restored Wednesday evening.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
