ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KGTV) — A brush fire along Interstate 15 in Escondido forced several lanes of traffic to close as crews worked to douse flames.
The brush fire was reported along northbound I-15, just after State route 78, at about 1 p.m., according to California Highway Patrol.
The fire forced at least one lane closed on NB I-15, as well as the westbound connector of SR-78 to NB I-15 as of 2:20 p.m., Caltrans San Diego said. The closure lasted about two two hours.
Hot and dry conditions Saturday have elevated fire risk throughout San Diego County, according to the National Weather Service.
