FALLBROOK, Calif. (KGTV) -- Border Patrol agents arrested a woman Thursday they say was transporting cocaine and fentanyl in her car.
According to the agency, the arrest happened just before 11 a.m. on Jan 14 along Interstate 15 near Fallbrook.
Border Patrol says agents initiated a vehicle stop “on a suspicious 2003 Ford Escape” when a K-9 alerted authorities. After searching the car, agents found 12.3 pounds of cocaine and fentanyl hidden inside the vehicle’s center consoles. The narcotics have an estimated street value of more than $332,5200.
"Thankfully, these dangerous drugs did not make it to their destination. I am proud of our agents continued dedication to keep our communities safe," said Chief Patrol Agent Aaron Heitke.
The driver, who is a US citizen, was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Agency.
