CALEXICO, Calif. (KGTV) — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized more than $2 million worth of narcotics in a single vehicle stop this week.

CBP says officers stopped a 55-year-old driver at about 4 a.m. at the Calexico Port of Entry and referred the driver to a secondary inspection, where an x-ray imaging system identified anomalies in the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle turned up 20 packages of fentanyl weighing 48 pounds, and 121 packages of methamphetamine weighing 517 pounds hidden in the floor, gas tank, seats, and spare tire.

The driver was arrested and turned over to Homeland Security officials.
