Man stabbed to death in gang fight at Escondido park

ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KGTV) -- An apparent gang-related fight at an Escondido park left a 37-year-old man dead Wednesday night.

According to Escondido police, the brawl involving about 20 people was reported shortly before 8:30 p.m. at Grove Park, located at 745 N. Ash St.

Officers arrived at the scene and found a man with multiple stab wounds and head trauma lying on the ground and unresponsive.

The victim was taken to Palomar Hospital, where he later died from his injuries, according to police.

Police said officers detained several people for questioning, but no arrests were announced.
