SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A man was found shot to death in the middle of a Grantville street early Tuesday morning, police said.
San Diego police received several calls regarding gunshots and screaming in the 6200 block of Holabird Street, across from Grantville Neighborhood Park, at around 2:50 a.m.
Responding officers arrived to find a man with at least one gunshot wound on his body lying on the ground. The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
10News learned investigators discovered some shell casings on the roadway nearby.
A witness described seeing a white man wearing a black hoodie with a white logo, black pants and a backpack leaving the scene after the incident.
According to police, a person matching the description of a possible suspect was detained and taken to police headquarters for questioning.
Due to the investigation, police blocked off the intersection of Vandever Avenue and Holabird Street.
Details on what led to the gunfire were not immediately available.
