SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A 33-year-old man died after fighting with another driver Saturday afternoon over a traffic dispute downtown.

The victim had been involved in a scuffle a few blocks away with another male driver, SDPD said. The fight was eventually broken up, and both men drove off in different directions around 3 p.m.

"As the man was driving, he realized he had been injured and began to lose consciousness. He eventually collided with a light pole, a tree and a power box in the 900 block of First Avenue," said Lieutenant Matt Dobbs.

The man had suffered trauma to his upper body, but it's unclear if his injuries came from the fight or the crash.

The victim, later identified as 33-year-old Yacoub Abdallah was rushed in critical condition to a hospital, where he died, police said. The victim's name and age were not immediately released.

The female passenger was also sent to the hospital for minor injuries as a result of the crash.

A 14 year-old girl was also treated at the hospital for minor injures to her foot caused by flying debris from the crash.

Police said the suspect was described as an Asian or Hispanic male, stocky build, in his 30s or 40s. He was last seen driving a red compact sedan.
