VISTA, Calif. (CNS) - A 45-year-old apparently homeless man suspected of arson was arrested after allegedly setting a car on fire in Vista.

Deputies responded to a report of a car fire in the 1200 block of East Vista Way, near East Bobier Drive, about 10 p.m. Tuesday, according to Lt. Nancy Blanco of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

"On their way to the scene, a witness reported seeing a man, who appeared to be homeless, walk by the car, break a window and start the fire," Blanco said.

Deputies located Jose Garcia, matching the suspect's description, who allegedly had a lighter in one hand and a pipe to smoke illegal drugs in another, according to Blanco.

Garcia was arrested after a witness identified him in a curbside lineup, Blanco said. He was booked at the Vista Detention Facility for arson and possession of illegal drugs.
