SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A large tree fell down on a section of the famed Starlight Bowl amphitheater at Balboa Park on Monday.
The tree came down on a portion of the amphitheater, which is located at 2005 Pan American Plaza, sometime overnight, authorities said.
It is unknown what caused the tree to fall, but photos show a large branch piercing through a part of the concrete structure, causing damage to the facade and roof.
No injuries were reported.
Crews worked to cut the tree and remove it from the area.
The Starlight Bowl, located next to the Air & Space Museum, first began hosting events such as musicals and concerts in 1935.
However, the venue has been out of service since 2012.
The nonprofit group Save Starlight has been working to revive and restore the Starlight Bowl since its closure.
