LA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) - Police are searching for a man who allegedly threatened a 7-Eleven store clerk with a flare gun during a Wednesday morning robbery.
The incident happened at around 1:30 a.m. at the store in the 7000 block of University Avenue, La Mesa police said.
According to the clerk, a man walked into the store and demanded cash and cigarettes. The clerk told him there was no money, but the man then pulled a flare gun from his pocket.
At that point, the clerk handed over several single bills from the register and gave the man cigarettes.
On his way out, the suspected robber grabbed some beer and then fled the scene.
No injuries were reported.
A description of the suspected robber was no immediately available.
