SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A freeze warning has been put into effect in parts of San Diego county, including inland valleys. Frost could also effect areas along the I-5 and I-405 corridors.
The below freezing temperatures can create dangerous conditions for animals who are left outside.
In Valley Center, a herd of 500 goats who have been clearing a large field, has been given a makeshift shelter to protect against the cold.
The owners say, the goats are herded into small enclosures covered by tarps. But it’s their own body heat that allows them to stay warm, huddling close together overnight.
Owners of outside pets or livestock are urged to provide adequate shelter for their animals overnight. Vulnerable plants should also be covered.
