ENCINITAS, Calif. (KGTV) - Many North County residents are celebrating the completion of a new bikeway, bridge and rail crossing in Encinitas.
On Thursday, $100 million worth of improvements were made to a stretch of Encinitas, including the 1.3-mile segment of the Coastal Rail Trail bikeway, the 1.5-mile San Elijo Lagoon Double Track and Bridge, and the Chesterfield Drive Rail Crossing.
The project was part of SANDAG’s plan to improve transportation safety and efficiency in San Diego County.
