SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The popular Hillcrest Farmers Market is reopening this weekend, but public safety and social distancing measures will be in place.
The market on 3690 Normal St. will return on Sunday, April 19 with special hours for seniors (9 a.m.-10 a.m.), with all other customers able to shop from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
A maximum of 50 customers will be allowed in the market at any time, and 10News learned only fresh produce and pre-packaged foods will be sold.
Customers will not be allowed to touch any items and no sampling will occur; sellers will prepare and handle any items by request.
The state has classified Hillcrest Farmers Market as an essential service, thus allowing the market to conduct business.
