SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Flames from a raging fire at a Kearny Mesa off road vehicle business led to the evacuation of a nearby animal hospital.

The fire was reported at around 1:30 a.m. Thursday at the Off Road Warehouse (7915 Balboa Ave.), according to San Diego Fire-Rescue officials.

Witnesses at a nearby restaurant called 911 after seeing flames and heavy smoke coming from the back of the ORW building.

Multiple crews arrived to battle the fire, and some firefighters worked to remove numerous cats and dogs as flames threatened the Balboa Veterinary Hospital next door.

It took firefighters at least three hours to fully douse the flames.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

Fire officials noted that the warehouse caught fire in November 2018.
