EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) -- Four people were taken to the hospital after a Border Patrol chase led to a crash in El Cajon Wednesday evening.
According to Border Patrol, around 5 p.m., a Ford Mustang with four people inside sped through the U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint on Interstate 8 near Campo. As the Mustang exited I-8 west on the Main St. exit, it crashed into another vehicle.
Agents quickly detained all four people from inside the Mustang. Two of the four occupants were found in the trunk and agents determined they were in the United States illegally.
The driver in the other vehicle was not hurt.
The investigation is ongoing.
