CORONADO, Calif. (KGTV) - Coronado's Free Summer Shuttle service begins its three-month run just before the Memorial Day weekend.
From May 24 to Sept. 2 (Labor Day), the Free Summer Shuttle program will offer rides along Coronado's Orange Avenue.
The city of Coronado contracts with the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System to run the free shuttle every 15 minutes along the MTS 904 route.
This year marks the seventh season of the popular program, which helps reduce vehicle traffic during Coronado island's busiest season.
The free service takes passengers from Coronado's civic center to the Hotel del Coronado, to a drop off near the beach, and the city library and Spreckels Park.
The route continues through the downtown and bayfront shopping and dining area, to the Coronado Ferry Landing and the Marriott Coronado Island Resort and back.
Buses run 8:58 a.m. to 9:43 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, with service ending one hour later on Friday and Saturday.
Updated information and shuttle schedules will be posted on Coronado's Summer Shuttle page.
