SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KGTV) -- California State Senator Brian Jones tested positive for coronavirus, he announced on Twitter Wednesday.
Jones said he learned of his positive test result after returning to Sacramento for the end of the session.
According to Jones’ Twitter, the State Senator plans to take additional tests to rule out a possible false positive.
“In the meantime, he’ll be following CDC and CDPH protocols for those receiving a positive test result,” a spokesperson said.
The news comes as 228 more people throughout San Diego County tested positive for the virus Wednesday.
So far, more than 37,000 people in San Diego County have tested positive for COVID-19.
