SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are searching for whoever drove a large truck through the front of a Mission Valley Verizon store and swiped merchandise early Friday morning.

At around 3:30 a.m., San Diego police were called to the Verizon Wireless store on 980 Camino De La Reina, near Mission Center Road, in response to a break-in.

Officers arrived to find a truck completely inside the business after it smashed through the front glass doors and knocked down in-store displays.

With guns drawn, police approached the vehicle, but no one was inside.

Witnesses told police they spotted someone wearing a blue hoodie and jeans running from the store after the crash, and police believe that person got into another car with a getaway driver.

It is unknown what kind of items were stolen from the store.
