SAN MARCOS, Calif. (KGTV) - A church in San Marcos suffered major damage after a pipe burst early Thursday morning and sent water rushing inside the building.

The incident was reported at around 1:30 a.m. at the Palomar Korean Church at 170 Bosstick Blvd., according to authorities.

Authorities said a water riser on the side of the building broke, which then led to flooding in numerous rooms inside.

Authorities were able to shut the water flow off and used various tools to push the water outside.

A church leader told 10News the entire church suffered water damage and flooring and carpeting will need to be replaced.

While the church is closed, services will be held at a building next door that was not impacted by the flooding.
