Two Avon Lake men are being charged with multiple offenses after allegedly killing deer within city limits.
The suspects have been identified as 26-year-old Adam Petrella and 25-year-old Andrew Smith.
Police have responded to multiple calls involving dead deer, which all had wounds consistent with those made by an arrow. It was ultimately deemed that none of the deer were part of the city’s deer culling program.
One particular incident on Jan. 2 brought officers witness information that led to Petrella and Smith.
Both men are reportedly facing charges related to hunting violations and animal cruelty, while Smith faces additional charges of shooting a bow within city limits.
