CARLSBAD, Calif. (KGTV) -- A man was shot during a party at a Carlsbad home and then dropped off at a hospital, police said Tuesday.

Shortly after 3 a.m., Carlsbad police responded to a report of drugs and a party at a condo in the 900 block of Tide Court.

About 45 minutes later, while officers were outside of the condo, police said officers responded to “a delayed call for service reporting the sound of gunshots fired at the same address.”

Officers surrounded the complex and evacuated several residents. Officers entered the condo and found at least four bullet holes in the walls and some blood inside.

10News learned that as police responded to the shooting call, a person was dropped off at Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside with at least one gunshot wound. That person, who is believed to have been injured in the Tide Court shooting, was eventually transferred to Scripps La Jolla Hospital. The victim’s condition is unknown.

Carlsbad police identified the shooting victim as a 33-year-old Hispanic man.

No other injuries were reported at the condo complex.

Police announced that a person suspected in the shooting, 36-year-old Malique Travon Campbell, was arrested in the Riverside County city of Banning just before 10 a.m. He was booked into Vista Detention Facility for attempted murder, assault with a firearm, use of a firearm during the commission of a crime, felon in possession of a firearm, and a probation violation.
