SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A suspect reported with a gun near an elementary school in San Diego’s Chollas Creek neighborhood Wednesday afternoon caused the school to briefly go on lockdown.
Police received a call around 1 p.m. about a family disturbance on the 5000 block of Sterling Court.
The caller told police that the suspect was armed with a handgun inside the home and that a woman and 4-year-old were also inside.
Out an abundance of caution, nearby John Marshall Elementary School went on lockdown from 12:36 to 1:16 p.m.
After responding to the scene, the woman and child were safely taken out of the home, but the suspect wasn’t located inside.
Police say the suspect is now wanted for questioning, but they aren’t continuing their search due to the level of the reported crime.
