Opening night came on Friday for the first ever Kaaboo Music Festival and neighbors were waiting anxiously.
“It’s three days of continual music,” said June Gottleib.
Gottleib lives within a quarter mile of the Fairgrounds and is used to dealing with the fair and the races, which she said in recent years have kept the noise down, but it’s been bad before.
“In the past the music was just blasted, you’d hear it all night,” said Gottleib.
The average ticket is between $199 to $2,500 for a 3-day pass. The Festival features headliners like No Doubt, The Killers and Snoop Dog.
Carolyn Carroll said neighbors were promised by organizers that the sound would be kept to a minimum, and said she’ll be listening closely.
“They better do it right,” said Carroll, “or the next year there’ll be a lot more resistance.”
