IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. (KGTV) -- The city of Imperial Beach voted to ban Styrofoam containers at restaurants Wednesday night.
The ban is part of an effort to clean up the environment and keep debris out of the oceans.
Similar bans are in effect in Solana Beach and Encinitas.

Earlier this year, San Diego added Styrofoam to the curbside recycling program. Trying to meet the goal of reusing 75 percent of our trash by 2020.
