SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A horse died Sunday morning during training at the Del Mar Racetrack.
According to the horse’s owner, Brian Trump, the horse, Bobby Abu Dhabi, went into sudden cardiac arrest on the track while training.
Trump said the jockey, Victor Espinoza, was injured during the incident, though the extent of the injuries are unclear at this time.
The news comes after Del Mar's Opening Day on July 18. The Del Mar Racetrack is now open for the season, which runs through Labor Day, September 3.
