Four Hoover High School summer students stabbed in off-campus fight

SAN DIEGO (KGTV)--Four summer school students were hospitalized Monday afternoon after being stabbed during a fight in City Heights, according to the San Diego Police Department.

The fight involved about up to eight students and drew dozens of spectators at 4200 Chamoune Avenue near Orange Avenue around noon, police and San Diego Unified School District officials confirmed. 

All four injured individuals were Hoover High School summer school students, according to SDUSD information specialist Jennifer Cornelius Rodriguez. Three students attend Crawford High School during the regular school year and one attends Hoover High School.

Late Monday, district officials said a 20-year-old man had been arrested. He was not a current student in the district.

The students who were stabbed were said to have non-life threatening injuries.

Chamoune Avenue was temporarily closed at El Cajon Boulevard due to police activity.
