Helicopter drops massive amounts of water on manure fire Friday

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Friday afternoon, a helicopter could be seen dropping massive amounts of water on a pile of manure. 

The manure fire happened at the San Luis Rey Training Facility where ranch hands attempted to rescue more than 500 horses Thursday.

A total of 25 horses died in the Lilac Fire that has so far consumed 4,100 acres in the northern portion of San Diego County. 

Firefighters Friday were able to get the Lilac Fire 15 percent contained as Santa Ana winds calmed down slightly.
