Girl fractures femur in dockless scooter crash

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A 9-year-old girl suffered a fractured femur after the dockless scooter she was riding crashed into a tree.

The incident happened just after 7:30 p.m. Monday in the 4200 block of Dwight Street in City Heights, according to San Diego police.

Police said a 9-year-old girl and her 16-year-old sister were both riding on a dockless scooter traveling eastbound on the sidewalk when the older sister, who was riding behind her sibling, somehow fell.

The younger sister remained on the scooter, but lost control of it and slammed into a tree.

The 9-year-old was taken to the hospital after suffering a fractured femur. There is no word if the 16-year-old sister suffered any injuries.
