SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A San Diego woman is searching for answers after the geese she often feeds while walking along Lake Murray suddenly disappeared.

For years, Anna Falco and others walked the trail around Lake Murray. Shortly after taking to the trails,

Falco and her friends started to notice two different species of geese that were always together.

In June, regulators at the reservoir noticed the pair was missing. After an extensive search, the geese have yet to be found.

“They meant a lot to me. I’m an animal person,” said Falco. "The geese do make you feel loved and it's not just the geese, it's all of them. It's just a friendly atmosphere and a safe atmosphere."

Officials at the reservoir say they are always looking out for the safety of the birds and other wildlife around the area and say they have no proof anyone may have harmed the birds.
