A gas leak at a Bay Terraces apartment complex prompted many evacuations Tuesday night.
The incident was reported around 9:10 p.m. at the Meadowbrook Apartments located at 419 Deep Dell Road.
San Diego police said a contractor hit a main and caused a 'large diameter gas leak'.
Six police units were requested to help with the evacuations.
San Diego Gas & Electric is en route to the apartment complex.
