SAN DIEGO – An early morning blaze tore through a shed and freight container in Spring Valley Tuesday.
The fire broke out in what appeared to be an abandoned salvage yard sometime before 2:40 a.m. in the 6300 block of Quarry Road.
It took responding crews with Cal Fire and San Diego Fire-Rescue about 15 minutes to get the blaze under control. There were no injuries. The metal shed and freight container were declared a complete loss.
The cause was not immediately known. Arson investigators were expected to come out later Wednesday and examine the scene.
A firefighter told 10News there is a large homeless encampment in the area behind the salvage yard.
