SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A fatal crash involving a motorcycle shut down lanes of Interstate 8 early Saturday.
The crash occurred just before 3 a.m. on I-8 just before the I-805 connector. California Highway Patrol officers are not sure if the motorcyclist was hit or fell on his own.
The motorcycle ended up about a quarter mile ahead of where the man was found by officers.
A Ford Mustang struck the motorcycle, wedging it under the vehicle. However, CHP said the Mustang is not connected to the fatal collision.
The motorcyclist died at the scene. His name was not immediately released.
CHP officers are investigating the cause of the crash. I-8 lanes were reopened to traffic just after 6 a.m.
