(KGTV) - Does the DMV really want to start charging people $15 for physically coming in to do business that could be done by mail or online?
Yes, but it's not here in California.
The Rhode Island DMV is proposing the fee. It wound not apply to 'Real ID' license renewals which must be done in person.
The DMV estimates the walk-in customer service charge would bring in more than one million dollars a year.
It will now be up to Rhode Island's governor to accept or reject the fee.
