NATIONAL CITY, Calif. -- Neighbors helped catch an erratic driver who struck several parked cars in the National City neighborhood of Lincoln Acres overnight Monday.
At around midnight, neighbors were awoken by a woman in a van who was bouncing off parked cars in the 3100 block of Alta Drive. Witnesses told 10News the woman drove away and the returned.
“(She) was obviously very inebriated, either on drugs or drunk,” witness Adam Alotaibi told 10News.
“She was just swerving. She came pretty close to a head-on collision with another vehicle just before she hit that white Honda.”
Neighbors called 911 and then followed the woman until California Highway Patrol officers arrived. According to witnesses, the woman smashed into a car right in front of officers. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
The woman was taken into custody. Her name and the charges she faces were not confirmed.
