SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - One of the best ways to enjoy a day in America's Finest City is spending time out on the water.

The San Diego International Boat Show runs through Sunday, June 10 at the Spanish Landing Park.

More than 140 boats from entry-level family cruisers and luxury yachts, to sailboats will be on display in the San Diego Bay to browse, board, and buy.

The boat show has been running for 16 years. Duncan McIntosh helped organize the boat show.

"We're trying to help the San Diego marine community build their business, sells boats, sell product, make people aware of what the new models are like, give them an opportunity where they can look at what's out there," he says. "If they've never been in a boat they can see what's involved."

Experts, educators, and adventurers will hold workshops and seminars for boaters to sharpen their skills.

Local organizations will also attend the boat show to educate people about protecting our oceans and spreading awareness about the impact humans have on the environment.

10News spoke with Kyle Corbett who works with Seas Lyfe.

"If production stays the way it is, by 2050, just 30 years from now we're going to have more inorganic compounds than organic compounds and if that happens in just a few decades from now, there's going to be so many species of fish that die in the middle that we can't reverse those changes," he says.

"That means in a few decades, if we don't change something now, we could actually see more damage than humans have the ability to turn around."

Seas Lyfe and a number of other exhibitors will attend the boat show.

There will also be live music and food for popular food trucks in the area.
