Driver slams into downtown SD parking garage

SAN DIEGO – A man had to be extricated after he flipped his car and slammed into a parking garage in downtown San Diego late Wednesday night.
 
According to San Diego Fire-Rescue, sometime before 11:42 p.m. a Toyota sedan that had just gotten off Interstate 5 smashed into a parked Toyota Corolla in the area of 10th Avenue and A Street. The car then overturned and landed on its side against the entrance to a parking garage. 
 
San Diego Fire-Rescue crews responded and extricated the man, who was taken to a hospital with major injuries. His condition was not confirmed. No one else was hurt. 
 
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
