SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Emergency crews rescued a driver who was trapped in his car after crashing into trees off a Scripps Ranch roadway Friday.
The crash occurred at around 3 a.m. in the 10100 block of Pomerado Road, according to San Diego police.
Police said the driver, for reasons still unclear, lost control of his vehicle and soared off the road. The car came to rest on its side after slamming into trees.
It took crews about 45 minutes to help the driver out of the car. He was taken to the hospital for an evaluation.
With beer cans found scattered near the car, police are looking into the possibility the driver was under the influence.
