SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A driver crashed his car into a Serra Mesa 7-Eleven store Thursday morning, but no one was hurt in the wreck.

The crash happened just after 9:15 a.m. at the convenience store at 3385 Sandrock Road.

Driver Sam Garcia, who works at the Serra Mesa Barber Shop nearby, said he has visited that same 7-Eleven store for 30 years.

He said, “I drove in like I normally do. Instead of hitting the brake, I hit the gas pedal and I went into the store.”

Garcia said he backed his car out, parked it and went inside the store to see if anyone was hurt. He then apologized to the store’s manager and employees before providing his driver’s license information.

The incident caused the store to shut down indefinitely.
