A 3-year-old girl is recovering after getting bitten in the face by a dog in Pacific Beach on Monday.
It happened around 11 a.m. near the World Famous restaurant.
The 4-year-old Catahoula Leopard dog was on a leash when the child and her mom saw it while walking on the boardwalk and asked the owner to pet it.
The man said yes, but when the little girl reached out the dog bit her on the cheek.
The bite did not appear to be too serious, but medics took the child to the hospital to get checked out.
The owner stayed at the scene and cooperated with animal control.
They took the dog to the shelter where it will stay for 10 days to make sure it doesn't have rabies.
